Color and light

The session opened with 스텔라장(Stella Jang) - Colors as the pre-9:30 AM opener followed by the Limits of Light video from Austria.

Launch of Limits of Light was at 9:30 AM sharp to an empty room. Necessary as the morning session was fitting in both Limits of Light and CD spectroscopes.

The weather was good for the CD spectroscopes with bright sunshine between cumulus clouds associated with tropical storm 09W Bavi passing to the north of Pohnpei.

The Tripltek was deemed unsafe for use as the battery has expanded with enough force to crack the armored case. The Tripltek was factory reset although IT recommended not even turning the unit on.

While the video ran, the CD spectroscopes were brought out.

Following the video the colors seen were listed by the students. No student listed indigo, which would have led to Niki - Indigo but the time was too tight. Coverage of ROY G. BIV and indigo was done as the period wound down.

The laboratory session did not include the Physci 112 color playlist, opting instead to display gray on the Doogee Fire 3 Pro. No gray. An explanation of the biophysics was done on the board. The logic being that the students had just been through an hour long video in the morning session. During the regular term the Limits of Light is shown on Monday, CD spectroscope on Wednesday, and the lab on Thursday. To buffer the 8:00 AM start of the laboratory and late arriving students, the playlist is useful. During the summer this is not necessary.

This term a gray shirt was used to show that gray is not produced by a cell phone screen. Again the Doogee Fire 3 Pro was pressed into service as the pixels are larger than on a Google Pixel 10 Pro. This helped compress the period and the lab wrapped by 13:00 on an 11:30 start. During the regular term, however, the playlist should be used as this allows time for late arrivals to settle in.

No gray is coming off of the Smartboard screen nor the screen with which you are viewing the Smartboard displaying my gray shirt.

Austin, Senilo, Ellinae, Jenry-Thor, and Camridge. A curious effect occurred. One student left, which is not unusual as students do not need permission to go to the washroom. The a couple others left. And never came back. I think they thought the first 12 questions were the whole laboratory. The loss of a significant number of students half way through the lab was surprising and unanticipated.

In lieu of the videos, the explanation was sketched out on the board for gray and yellow from RGB
