11.1 Paired marble masses

To illustrate a pairwise difference in sample means pairs of marbles were distributed to the students.

Just before class the marbles were split on the 5.2 | 5.1 gram line. 5.2 and up on the left, 5.1 and down on the right. The split was lopsided.

The marbles were reallocated on a 5.1 | 5.0 split which resulted in a more even split count.

Students took one marble from each side. The split prevents ties in marble mass.

Seventeen students were present to participate.

This term  however, the result was not significant.
