Blackhawk Technical College

I visited Blackhawk Technical College today. I had an appointment with the dean of the Monroe campus and we had a wide ranging three hour discussion that included a campus tour. The conversation was a wonderful three hour crash course in assessment, programs, curriculum, core abilities, the WIDS system at BTC, AQIP, and many more topics. AQIP is particularly interesting as it effectively replaces the self-study method of reaffirming accreditation and supports continuous assessment and improvement. I am deeply indebted to Dean Wellington for sharing her time and knowledge.
All classrooms include a computer projector and a desk top computer linked to the projector. Some classrooms include an ELMO unit. The classroom below has a live video link to the Janesville main campus.
Nursing assistant, LPN, and RN programs are supported by specialized classrooms. The scene below is not in a hospital, this is a classroom at BTC.

Evening is play time in the basement for the kids. All cashiers need a hard hat for purposes of safety.
Never to old for playing with "peoples."
