Run to Yellowstone

I ran 14.4 kilometers in 1:39:31 up and down the hills of the Driftless Zone, crossing the Pecatonica valley on a long run to Yellowstone State Park. I reached the Yellowstone Dairy Restaurant in an hour and 28 minutes, at a distance of 12.6 kilometers. That was my finishing location five years ago. This year I ran into the park to the beach where the family was picnicking and swimming.
More photos from along the road - what a runner in the Driftless zone sees.

  1. The Yellowstone DAIRY Restaurant had the most wonderful LARGE chocolate ice cream cones years ago . . . we DROVE (not ran)from Blanchardville just to get them. Have you noticed a "trend" in my posts??

  2. Caught the trend, saw the site and the wonderful photo of the village dam. I had not noticed the dam before - I will make a point of stopping to see it next time I head up through Blanchardville. Not here much longer, I am just a "tourist" here. Saturday I head back home to Pohnpei, Micronesia.
