071 Hide and seek

The hide was behind a stand of bamboo beyond maintenance.

Shady and obscured. There is one heck of a hidden, flooded pit to the west of here. A caution had to be sent out should anyone try to enter from that side.

The view back towards the gym.

The top of the gym can just be seen. The hide is downslope out here.

GPS Test has an awesome share function! Just realized that!

Handles conversions and displays decimal seconds.

Behind the bamboo. Voices could be heard by 12:15.

At 12:19 Ikaia spotted me through the brush. They came in from east of my position.

Marikai was navigating for the group, Ikaia was on the lead in brush.

Hailey and Jaymar were in this group. Ikaia was keen to remain hidden and not reveal the hide.

Genaeia was on lead of a second group.

Marvin and Eugene were with Genaeia. Eugene was along as a plus one.

The rescuers. One student reportedly sank into the swamp west of my position. They required assistance to get out. That was concerning and will have to be a caution for future reference.

Message to send in future terms:

Watch out for holes, ravines, lakes, and cliffs! Walk carefully. Do not walk out into a swamp! I am not in a swamp. Turn around. You will sink and get stuck.

Move in a group. Do not go solo and walk alone.

If you need help, call out for help and include the specific nature of your need for assistance. If you are near the hide, you will be heard. Nonspecific calls for help can be misinterpreted.

If you have a medical condition, please sit this one out. If you feel overheated, get into the shade and cool down. Bring water with you if you can. Today is exceptionally hot. Move slower, study your GPS data. When the numbers match, you are here. Think of me as a lost tourist calling for help and sending rescue coordinates. Can you rescue this old man?

Note that Compass does not display fractional seconds. One second is equivalent to 0.017 arcminutes. As a result, the iPhone cannot put you closer to me than 0.017 arcminutes. GPSTest on Android can put one within 0.001 arcminutes of my location, seventeen times closer.
