In Schoology a student had to return to the assignment, drilling down to the actual assignment, to see comments made. In Canvas, the comments are visible from the Dashboard. At the right are the upcoming assignments, below are the returned assignments.  The comments are hyperlinked to the assignment and the full comment. Note that this assignment has a resubmission option. Separately, the calendar does a nice job of displaying completed assignments using strikethrough text. 

The key to submitting assignments in Canvas that use Google LTI 1.3 is to realize that the assignment is in a Google Classroom assignment tab. The Submit button is on an earlier or previous tab. Submitting on a laptop, with commentary provided by the student: "When I open an assignment, I am being led to the [above screenshot] where I can see the "Open to Attach and Submit" and my assignment file in "Your Files" section." When using Google LTI 1.3 assignments in Canvas, the Canvas Teacher app on Android reports that the submission type is unsupported.  There is only the ability to message the student. The solution is to log in using a browser. At this institution does have to first go into Settings > Google and add the G Suite of Education Google account on an Android device. This is important. Because when one first goes to the college Canvas URL, an error message is initially shown. Then a few moments later one is given an option of which account to use to log into Canvas: this only appears if the second account has already been added via Settings. This is an important step in the Android world. Provided one has the necessary account authorized in Settings, then the rest proceeds relatively smoothly. Fall 2020 was the first full term of multiple courses online and I sought to learn where there was room for me to improve in my courses. The students were surveyed anonymously by the college using an online survey instrument. I was granted access to a subset of the data for my own courses.  Across my four courses, ESS 101w Walking for Fitness, MS 150 Statistics, SC/SS 115 Ethnobotany, and SC 130 Physical Science, 57 students responded to the survey. In the following analysis the combined results for all four courses are being reported. At the course level sample sizes are small (Walking 8, Statistics 26,  Ethnobotany 16, Physci 7) and provide additional insight only in a few specific metrics.
