Founding Day 2022
Some of the groups decorated the interiors of their huts with crafts and, later in the day, sold local foods as a part of fundraising. Kosrae Student Organization had local foods and plants for sale. The groups marched from the gym to the parking lot to kick off the day. The march launched at 9:32 AM.
After the opening remarks, the Kosraeans demonstrated the pounding of taro to make fafa. In Kosrae the men pound the taro. The opening remarks began just about at 10:00 as scheduled.
ChuuChok demonstrated the pounding of taro as well. In this instance a woman from the outer islands of Chuuk is pounding, as is their custom. In the lagoon the men more commonly pound.
Pohnpei Student Organization showcased nopwei, the first five cups of sakau (Kitti municipal style).

After the showcases, the student group dances began. PingMwok led off.
