Tech in use by students

A convenience sample of thirty students in a statistics course responded to four questions centered on what technologies they possess and how they access the Internet. The students in course are a mix of residential and online students. The green bars have no particular meaning for this survey. This survey was made possible by the survey option in Instructure Canvas Classic Quizzes. New Quizzes does not provide a survey option at this time.

Students continue to rely on Internet access via college campuses.

Home access to Internet is available to a majority of the students but not all students, with ADSL access dominating home connectivity.

Almost all of the students have some form of technology.

Although 83% of the student have a cell phone, only 7% use their cell phone to get classwork done. Almost a third of the students rely on desktop computers on a college campus to get classwork done.

The college campuses, their connectivity, and their computers, remain important tech resources for the students.
