Canvas analytics and assessment data week five fall 2021

An additional course came up in Instructure Canvas during week five, yielding growth in all of the platform metrics.

Engagement as measured by page views continues to settle as faculty are less engaged in term start course setup work and as the students become more familiar with the platform.

The outcomes dashboard added 425 outcome measurements during week five.

A second dashboard looks at disaggregation by SIS variables for the author's own courses and highlights areas of strength and weakness in course sections for those variables.

A pivot of state of origin versus gender for courses taught by the author shows that there is no significant gender differential overall. The student SIS ID is displaying the number of students, the pentascale is a five point learning outcome scale as described in earlier blogs in this series.

The pivot table provides insights that are not otherwise available. While the sample size is small, Kosraean females are underperforming Kosraean males. The Yapese, both female and male, are underperforming against all other subgroups in the table. Pohnpeian students are performing more strongly overall with no gender differential.
