Women & Sport 5k
The pre-dawn morning of the seventh annual Women & Sport 5k was punctuated by lightning and thunder. By dawn the rain had cleared. Wet pavement and the windless morning air made for a peak humidity run, a run where one sweats profusely without any cooling effect. Normal home field conditions around here.
Turn out was good, with strong participation by the college community. On the home front, I was the only one to join. The lingering tail of a chest cold that has kept off the roads for over a week meant I was out of tone and perpetually winded. I dragged my joggling tail across the finish line in 31:17.
Lestly and Debra worked hard to ensure the day would be a success.
Working even harder was Sweeter.
Patsipa and Sylvia completed the 5k.
