Nurses Week Fun Walk

The 11th annual Pohnpei Nurses Fun Week Walk was held at 10:00 A.M. on the 12th of May with a parade from PICS track and field down to Spanish Wall for a health fair.

The event was a fun walk, so I joggled in loop backs between the Pohnpei Island Central High School Health Career Opportunity Program students at the front who carried the banner and those who were bringing up the rear.

As a technical note, I was wearing two shirts under the partly sunny, high humidity, ten o'clock in the morning conditions. I continued to shuttle joggle back and forth between the lead and the tail for forty minutes. Although I suppose there was some risk of overheating, I was surrounded by capable nurses and future nurses at all times.

Ivyrose was the photographer for the day and took wonderful pictures. Sylvana and Ivyrose show off this year's t-shirts which focus on immunization, protecting adults and children.

After the parade, a health fair with blood pressure screening and immunizations was held in Spanish Wall.
